Mary Liaq is the leather specialist and fashion expert behind Leathers Vest, and she also leads our marketing and customer support team. Riders, club members and western-wear fans come to her when they want a leather vest that fits right, carries their patches properly and lasts for years.

Leather expertise

Mary's focus is the leather itself. She explains how the leathers we use differ in feel and wear: thick cowhide and buffalo that break in and mould to you on the bike, soft and light lambskin for everyday comfort, suede for western looks, and distressed and vintage finishes that look broken-in from the first day. She also explains what details such as solid one-piece backs, side laces, snap and zip fronts, quilted or sherpa linings and concealed carry pockets mean for how a vest wears.

On the style side, Mary follows how the leather vest moved from the cut-off jackets of early motorcycle clubs to today's motorcycle cuts, club style vests, western and fringe vests, puffer vests and fitted fashion styles for women.
